The Nesting Ground

Unbeknownst to us, what we stumbled upon is the nesting ground of what can only be described as a prehistoric life form.  However my mind tells me that this is much more; these creatures came from a higher existence. They were left behind by an advanced being or entity.  One further evolved then our own; and by our own undoing they no longer lay dormant. They have come here by means of which is all but impossible and have continued to exist in these underground tunnels for millenniums.  Now they are very much aware of our presence in their nest, for we have disturbed their dormant slumber.  If there is any hope of surviving, we will need to find another passage, one that leads us out of the mines before these creatures make it to the surface…
